Gloria J Zucaro's "Lucy's Box of Socks"

5"H x7"W Original Ink Design on Watercolor Cardstock

I spent an enjoyable evening preparing this "Thank You" card for my daughter Lucy and Grandson Alex to thank them for the Christmas gifts they gave me.  One of their gifts to me was a big box of all kinds of socks.  Some were black and some were white.  But there were also Christmas socks, socks with polka dots, socks with hearts, socks with penguins, socks with diamonds, socks with kites, socks with rainbows, socks with cupcakes, socks with polar bears, socks with cherries.  A whole lot of really fun socks!  I had told her I needed socks when she asked what I would like for Christmas...what a great surprise, a great big box of socks! Designs inspired by Zentangles.

This is my entry for Paint Party Friday.  Happy PPF.

  3. Love the socks card. . .very creative. I can imagine all sorts of Cloth Dolls with those socks. I use to live in IL and now on SE coast of FL. Nowhere near Puffins, but I love birds of all kinds. Drawing them, I may be able to see them one day, just as I do with the Yellow Cottage on the water I'm searching for. Thank you for visiting. Blessings, Janet PPF

  7. Gloria, the zentangly socks painting is great. I got lots of socks for Christmas too. My washing machine does strange things to socks. I thought I had lost one of a favorite pair. My husband found it way down in one of his khaki's pockets! I found another sock down under the dasher. Visiting your blog is always fun. Keep up the good work. Faye

PS.. My open ID seems to be acting up today. My work is on my Wordpress blog.

  17. What a fun drawing and a great way to say "thank you"! I love socks - I always wear 2 different socks because it's too hard to choose just one pattern!

  19. This is great. The patterns on the socks are wonderful. Years ago, one of my very practical aunts insisted she only wanted socks for her birthday. We got them, but we stuffed them in a pinata and make her break it open to get them.
