Gloria J Zucaro's "Out To Pasture"

6"H x 6"W original Oil on Raymar Panel    SOLD

This is the challenge from Carol Marine at the Daily Paintworks for the week.  I brought the horizon closer to the horse and tried to keep the shapes in mind..  I had toned the canvas with cad red before beginning and let it show through around the silhouette of the horse.

  1. Wonderfully painted, Gloria! I really like the toned red showing through! I use it a lot...It's one of my favorite painting methods. :)

  2. Hi Gloria, this is gorgeous! I have a huge soft soft for horses! Forgive me for asking a stupid question but I am still getting a grip on my oils (I'm too scared to unpack them yet), but since you are doing these daily, do you paint 'alla prima'? Like the toning too, that is a good idea!
