Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I am posting my painting today to Jennifer Mclean's challenge of the week for The Artists Playroom, which is Valentine themed. This will also be my early post to Paint Party Friday. I may try to get my Diva challenge done, too and post to "I am the Diva". I painted a still life today in what is a contemporary impressionistic style. I had placed a stem with multiple flowers on it in my Belleek vase. I had some Lindt Chocolate Truffles, so put them on the table. I hope you enjoy my painting and your Valentine's day.

mess because I did not have a stencil and the Cricut die-cut machine I have does not have the silhouette feature to make stencils so I thought I would just spray over the letters I cut out. But I already had a black background with a white heart. The red did not show up on the black when I sprayed the ink. So then I tried gold glitter spray, well that was a little better, but blew the letters away! So I just used white gel pen around the misplaced letters and then added a little 3 piece strip of rhinestones to the heart. I wrote my journaling with the white gel pen, but it picked up the red ink and came out pink! The reason I picked the word "pain" is because I have been going for physical therapy on my neck and shoulders for the last three weeks. It is just arthritis, which is what happens when you get old! LOL!
Loving your gorgeous oil painting Gloria, beautiful artwork. Am also enjoying your pages on Carolyn's use your words. Happy PPF, Annette x

ReplyDeleteWow, Gloria! These are both glorious and so different too. The beautiful and romantic impressionistic style roses' oil painting would look beautiful in almost any style room, from Formal to Shabby Chic. As to the spectacular art journal page, as Mary Poppins would say, "Just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down." May your love of art be healing therapy. Blessings!

ReplyDeleteyour painting of the still life is just gorgeous! And your art journal is so fun. Happy love gloria!
ReplyDeletethese are both a deLIGHT and I really enJOYed that explanation as I have these little bottles of glitter paint but I am so NOT a glitter girl [LOL] and you've given me a bit of insight into a way to use them. I still think I will give them to the kids in the front house [5 and 6] as I have been DOing, little by slowly clearing my studio of excess as my process shifts, changes, and evolves. yet it will BE a fun exploration to try them in a new way.
ReplyDeleteYour Valentine painting is beautiful, Gloria!! I hear ya on arthritic pain....yep, this getting old is no fun at all when it involves aches and pains. I hope the physical therapy has been helping. xx
ReplyDeleteLove the Valentine painting! Such beautiful flowers and what's not to loveabout Lindt pralinés. :) I hope the physical therapy helps on your pain. Love that painting, too.
ReplyDeleteLate again...but what a treat to visit you.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful soft still life is so romantic and the chocolates are one of my favourites! ;D
You've also done a spectacular art journal page that sounds like it was rather tricky but it certainly paid off.
I hope you have some relief with the physio. It's no fun being in pain. xox
