Our prompt for the week is any type of series of objects/people/animals?! I finally thought of these bowls that I have had for a few years now and they are still in perfect condition. I love them because of their wonderful colors of blue, green, red, pink, orange and yellow. They are made of a very heavy plastic called Melamine. This year they updated the colors, but I like these colors better. The large blue one can hold ten cups(plus) of freshly popped corn! The tiny yellow one holds about a half cup of nuts or raisins, etc.
I used my Derwent Inktense Watercolor Pencils, a #3 Micron black ink pen and a white gel pen.
Get on over and see the rest of the series!
I love your series of bright bowls. Nothing nicer than things in bright bowls and you used Inktense pencils. They do give a great strong colour. I can't wait to try mine :)

Love your bowls, especially the colors. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant job Gloria, such wonderful colours.
ReplyDeleteI know these bowls but unfortunately I don't have any :(
I love how you've used the pencils, especially on the shadows.
Have a great weekend :D
OOh, I love your bowls and they remind me of the vintage Fire King nested bowls I used to have. I loved those. SO heavy but gorgeous. Thanks for paritcipating.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Jenn
These are wonderful Gloria! Such a bright & cheery drawing.
ReplyDeleteI think it's so nice to see 'nibbles' in brightly coloured bowls. Wish I had some, haha. Have a great weekend :0)
wonderful drawing Gloria, loving those bowls. x
ReplyDeleteWhat great colors. Seeing the bowls in your drawing made me want some of my own, especially the big one filled with popcorn.

OH, such pretty coloured bowls!! Wonderful entry for the 'series' challenge, Gloria!!
ReplyDeleteLovely soft bowls, perfectly done!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of Melamine bowls, but never saw one in person. They are gorgeous and very colorful. What a super addition to Jenn's challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteBEautimous and so well rendered!! I have a thing for pretty bowls and love the colourful ones you've drawn and painted with watercolour pencils.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Gloria. I love the way your bowls came out. They remind me of my wife's grandmother's set of Fiesta style Pyrex bowls that we now have. I should pull them out and do a painting of them to make prints for the family. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have a thing about nesting bowls... They bring back memories of rummaging through Mom's cupboards when I wanted to bake something. Beautifully done and love all the colors. :) Warmly, Tracy
ReplyDeleteWhat a great drawing! Reading the comments, the drawing sure brought back a lot of memories for folks. As for me, my nesting bowls are clear so not nearly as cool to draw and your colorful ones. It's a great idea beautifully executed!
ReplyDeleteSorry I am late this week Gloria... and I love the bowls... got to have bright bowls I think and these colours look like they would match my palette perfectly... I have these gorgeous nest of mixing bowls that are the softest eggshell blue with a cream inside, but they always end up staying in the cupboard and I use my old faithful... funny how habits form isn't it...xx
